The Continuation Of Every Celebration Despite The Limitations

The Vigan City Festival is held every year at January 25 in honor of St. Paul the Apostle, the city’s patron saint. It has become a tradition for the locals to celebrate this annually every year to remember and honor their patron saint, as well as have a celebration in the whole city. Locals and even tourists gather to experience the city’s festival that usually lasts for several days. Despite the many changes our world went through for the past 2 years, it has never been the case for the locals to stop celebrating this festival. Even with the limited actions and restrictions that are put, locals are still trying their best to make the most out of what they can. Even with the current situation, people are still celebrating the Vigan City Festival in the new normal.

The festival consists of many people from different places and locals to gather and experience and see the various food fairs and stands in the place. Usually, carnivals and rides are also seen during festivals, as well as arts and crafts that can be seen in the Heritage of Vigan. Parades and even street dancing is an annual event during festivals, where participants dress up in local costumes and perform, as well as people playing local instruments and even parade their own products. But now, with the limited actions and restriction put for everyone’s safety, a lot of improvising and changing should be done. With this, store owners should ensure the safety and proper hygiene of customers. The last thing we want is the spread of any virus at times where a lot of people are gathered to celebrate. And that has to be the biggest challenge at times like for festivals. In response to this, every person should be responsible for their own safety as well as others. Even with many people gathering in the city and even if you are with a big crowd, we should still ensure an appropriate distance to ensure our safety. When entering places with crowded people, make sure you out your safety as your priority, as much as you want to enjoy the festival.

Even with restrictions and many changes made, we can still enjoy times like this to the fullest, as long as we still watch out for our health and safety while doing so. While the Vigan City Festival is not the same as it used to before this pandemic happened, there are still properties of it that can never be faltered. And this is the love and appreciation we have for the city. That even with any pandemic or changes happening, we can still find ways to celebrate this important event for everyone.

  1. Hello! Yes, it's hard to celebrate the Vigan City Fiesta this year again because of the virus, but from what you mentioned in your blog, we can still celebrate the fiesta as long as we follow the protocols and prioritize our safety and health first.
